Fusion ‘Bellydance’

Fusion ‘Bellydance’ (aka Tribal Fusion)

Fusion ‘bellydance’ is an evolving art form with as many interpretations as there are artists performing.  The dance is characterised by beautiful posture, strong, precise locks and isolations, ooey-gooey, serpentine undulations and powerful, earthy shimmies.  A luscious artistic expression that is infused with history, and also heavily influenced by contemporary culture and modern styles of dance.

There are important conversations happening around the heavy issues of cultural appropriation woven into the origins and evolution of this dance form, and I will continue to update this space and add to this list of resources as I delve deeper into this journey of trying to find my place here ♡
